Ever misread a situation and thought, “Wait… that’s not what they meant?” 😅
Welcome to intercultural communication, where the same action can mean completely different things.
About the Course
Building Bridges: Foundations of Intercultural Communication is a 30-hour interactive MOOC designed to help you understand both your own culture and others, because we all see the world through our own “cultural lens.”
Rooted in Open Education
Developed under the Open Education for a Better World 2024 project, this course was first offered in July 2024, and subsequently had two offerings for young learners eager to navigate multicultural spaces with confidence.
What You’ll Explore
- Identity & Cultural Lenses : Why we see things differently
- Food & Culture : More than just what’s on your plate 🍲
- Non-verbal Communication : From handshakes to personal space
- Clothing & Identity : What we wear, and what it says
Not Just Theory
Expect journals, discussions (yes, even fun debates), and practical tools like the ODIS framework to help you pause, reflect, and respond better in real-life situations.
🔓 खुले for You to Use
This is an open educational resource. This means you can adapt and use it in your own teaching (with credit, of course).
