The Covid-19 pandemic does have couple of silver linings. For one its has compelled the education community to take a hard look at commercial educational resources. This period had being a fertile ground for teachers enrich existing textbooks and to foray into curation and creation of OERs,
I’ve had the opportunity to present my work on contextualisation of French Foreign Language Textbooks at a few conferences.

The story behind the conference presentations
While I have been closely looking at textbooks in India for couple of years now, one aspect that I find interesting is the manner in which the textbooks are contentualised for India; one aspect that irritated me was that majority were available in traditional format, lacking multimedia resources and teacher guides. So you can image my excitement when I was asked if I wanted to contribute to a DIKSHA – a national project and create resources for the French textbooks of Goa! Here was an opportunity work towards energizing the textbooks! I would also be able to work with really amazing and dedicated teachers in Goa who I admire deeply for their commitment to the profession, who inspire me to be more creative and who are efficient team players.

It was absolutely amazing learning about the work that people have been doing with regards to making education more inclusive and more open!
